    • Unrated Quads Students will be paired in groups of 4 and play a round robin where every player plays each other once. The winner of the group gets a trophy after the last game is completed. Winners are determined based on who receives the highest score. Wins are worth 1 point, draws are worth .5 points, and losses 0. In the event of a tie, the Sonneborn-Berger system will determine the winner, which basically sums the scores of your opponents. The time control is g/20 d/5, which means players get 20 minutes each to make all of their moves with a 5 second count down at the beginning of each turn before the clock starts. While these Quads could take as long as 2.5 hours, most will finish in 1.5 hours or less. In the event of odd numbers, the remaining students will be placed in a small Swiss style tournament.
